During a PCI check it seems that a client I have been working with failed due to an ‘admin’ account on the HP P2000 MSA G3. I connected to the CLi of a device and checked the users by using # show user and no account called ‘admin’ was displayed.
I did some checking on Google and it seems that the ‘admin’ account is a hidden account that used to be on the G2 version. To see the account on the Cli type # show user admin and it will be displayed.
Now that we know the account is real then the password needs to be changed from the shipped default. This is changed by using through the CLi # set password admin and type the new password required twice. This will need to be done for both controllers.
I would then suggest that it is still possible to login with the ‘admin’ account and get the PCI check carried out.
At the moment it only seems to be on a few HP P2000 MSA G3 but all of the ones deployed are running the same firmware. I will open a ticket with HP and see if I can get an answer regarding this.
